In this presentation, Dr. Cheryl Forchuk will discuss an analogy of homelessness as a game of musical chairs, where there is a limited supply of housing for the number of people who require it, and all are competing for the same limited resource.

Presentation Summary: In this presentation, Dr. Forchuk will discuss an analogy of homelessness as a game of musical chairs, where there is a limited supply of housing for the number of people who require it, and all are competing for the same limited resource. Dr. Forchuk will discuss this situation, and policy, practice and research innovations that may allow us to end the game so that housing will not be a limited resource available to some and not others in our communities.
Speaker Biography: Dr. Cheryl Forchuk is a Distinguished University Professor at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University with a cross appointment to the Department of Psychiatry, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is a Scientist with Lawson Research Institute and has received many accolades, including an Officer in the Order of Canada and Order of Ontario as well as many acknowledgements for her…
