in this video, we profile the work of ReVive Center for Housing and Healing, an evidence-based model of housing and services designed to support individuals in homelessness prevention that has been implemented and continues to evolve in Chicago, Illinois. This model features permanent supportive housing, coupled with an "engagement centre" designed to provide opportunities for skill development and recovery.

This video profiles the research of Brooklyn Ward, a recent graduate of the MSc. program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University. Her research has focused on the stigma of substance use among individuals who experience homelessness. 

Tiny Homes and Sleeping Cabins as a Response to Homelessness: An Innovative Approach or Another Band-Aid Solution?

This video is the first installment in a series of presentations on research being conducted in the Social Justice in Mental Health Research Lab. This presentation, delivered virtually on October 8, 2025 was delivered by Dr. Carrie Anne Marshall and Ms. Brooklyn Ward. In this presentation, Dr. Marshall and Ms. Ward present the findings of a scoping review exploring the use of tiny homes and sleeping cabins in the support of individuals experiencing homelessness. In this review, 116 articles were identified, yet none provided evidence of the effectiveness of tiny homes and sleeping cabins on psychosocial outcomes.
