Presentation Summary: In this presentation, Dr. Oudshoorn will share his experience as the Editor-in-Chief of a research journal and author of over 100 publications to help students, postdocs, and early career researchers understand the nuances of academic success. Learners will have an opportunity to understand the soft skills that help in writing everything from emails to colleagues, to multi-million dollar grant applications.
Speaker Biography: Dr. Abe Oudshoorn, PhD, is Assistant Dean (EDIDA) and Associate Professor at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University, where he also holds the Arthur Labatt Family Chair in Nursing Leadership in Health Equity. With cross‐appointments at Lawson Health Research Institute and Western’s Department of Psychiatry, and as a member of the Centre for Research on Health Equity and Social Inclusion, his work bridges research, policy, and practice to advance health equity.
